The grandchildren and I love the
waterslide and the mini-golf. We
also enjoy gathering shells on the beach. If
an occasional rain shower sends us indoors, no worry.
We snuggle up in front of one of the three flat screen TV's and watch a
favorite movie. With a fully
equipped kitchen, we sometimes make cookies and enjoy milk and cookies while
enjoying the movie. Popcorn gets in
there somewhere.
The local area has a variety
of activities. Whether shelling on
the beach or touring the North Carolina Aquarium or exploring the ever
increasing shopping opportunities, you can set your own pace.
If you are an avid fisherman (ocean, pier), golfer or diver, you
can enjoy numerous possibilities for these activities and more.
The area is rich in history – Fort Macon State Park and Blackbeard the
pirate once was a part of our waters. The North Carolina Maritime Museum on the
Beaufort waterfront has artifacts of “Blackbeard’s Queen
Ann’s Revenge”. A short
ferry ride offers more excursions to the barrier islands and don’t miss the
wild horses. Local restaurants
offer superb dining opportunities and some use the local seafood catch.
Visit nearby Beaufort, NC
and explore its historic district. See the
North Carolina Maritime Museum with its Blackbeard
the Pirate exhibit and enjoy shopping and
dining along the historic Beaufort waterfront. Water
tours are available by sail, motor and kayak to Cape
Lookout, Shackleford Banks & Carrot Island where you
can see and photograph the wild ponies. Fort Macon
State Park and the North Carolina Aquarium are close
by and Morehead City and it's renown Sportfishing
fleet, one of the finest and oldest on the east
coast, is just across the bridge.
